1. What does it mean to put up security or give your pledge? See Genesis 43:9; 44:32; Neh 5:3; etc.

2. Should we understand these verses to be teaching that a person should never co-sign on another person’s loan? See also Proverbs 11:15; 17:18; 22:26-27.

3. What remedy does Solomon give for those who have already given their pledge for another?

4. How does this principle of pledging oneself as security for another apply to our relationship with the triune God? See Isaiah 38:14; Heb 7:22

5. How does Judah, in Genesis 44:32-33, serve as a type of Jesus?
